Initial response to the Government Review's interim report

Posted

We've had a first read of the interim report. Here's our initial thoughts.

Yesterday, the Government Curriculum and Assessment Review Panel published their interim report.

Our own research and conversations with children and young people across the country has shown a desire for more practical learning and an assessment system that does not create overwhelming stress and leave them burnt out. Students also want their education to be more relevant to real-life, encompassing topics such as climate change and nature, inclusion and diversity, financial literacy and citizenship. We are encouraged to see these priorities reflected in the Curriculum and Assessment Review interim report and hope to see these areas strongly reflected in the next phase of the Review.
